Erick “ROHO” Garcia is an up and coming Latino artist, DJ and soccer player , a Chicago native raised in Joliet, Illinois is now completing his master’s degree studying painting. Working with Friends of Community Public Art since 2006, he has taught mural classes at FCPA, Gallery 37 in Chicago and art classes at several Chicago, and Joliet Schools. Erick has experimented with oils and acrylics, but currently works with gouache and mixed media on paper, as well as other non- conventional substrates. His Mexican heritage, admiration with the Hip-Hop Culture and love for life are evidence in his work through his constant use of vibrant colors and bold expressive markings. Strongly influenced by graffiti and break dancing, he has incorporated that urban lifestyle in his works. ROHO never shy’s away from DJ’in or “breakin” on the dance floor.
